has a LEAF (local emergency assistance fund) to use at their discretion, along with state and federal grant money. They also have case workers and therapists to help individuals address the issues that have led to the financial crisis. They help people find housing, create resumes, and look for jobs, etc.

Glen Ellyn Walk-In Ministry
Services: assist Glen Ellyn residents or DuPage PADS clients with a referral who are in financial crisis
Services: very inexpensive schedule transportation for those over 60 or disabled. Requires pre-registration to affirm eligibility, but then trip appointments can be made a day in advance, 6:00-6:00 (M-F) and 8:00-5:00 (Sat-Sun), paid in cash $2 per trip one way plus $1 for each mile traveled. A companion can ride free.

Food Insecurity
Neighborhood Food Pantries
Services: There are about a dozen of these in DuPage County. Guests can visit an NFP weekly. Current open hours for Immanuel’s pantry: Sundays 1-3 p.m., Tuesdays, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The pantry in nearby West Chicago is open most of the days that Immanuel Presbyterian’s is not.

People’s Resource Center

Services: A high school after-school program run by Outreach. GPS helps students with homework, test preparation, and college and career preparation. They provide a safe space for students to have fun and build community. GPS meets in our building four days a week after school!
Services: free pancake breakfasts at the church throughout the school year for our local high school students. Join us between 7:00-8:00 am on late-start Wednesdays. This is open to all Wheaton Warrenville South students.
